BOOK A TABLE
Right in the centre of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape and hugging the banks of the River Avon, the family-friendly site at Wiltshire’s Woodbridge Inn offers up three acres of leafy grounds to spread out and relax in.
Surrounded by sleepy rural hamlets with old-world names like Manningford Bruce and Honey Street, the site has a handy location five minutes’ drive from the pretty town of Pewsey, its shops and restaurants. And even handier, it comes with a pub attached to it.
The Woodbridge is an 18th-century coaching inn well-known for its traditional Sunday roasts; the pub serves local beers brewed in Devizes and has a riverside beer garden with a play area for younger guests. You can also order picnic meals for your jaunts around the North Wessex Downs to mysterious Stonehenge and ethereal Avebury (both 20 minutes’ drive).
